About
In 1994 Richard became a crucial part of the burgeoning and original London tech-house scene, having been one of the original founders of the now famous Eukatech record store and its host of associated labels. In this time he built a strong following as a DJ , Producer and label A&R as he pursued a career in the global dance scene. He co-ran the Eukatech record store up until the summer of 2000, before moving to the San Francisco bay area.
He firmly made his mark on the London underground scene, playing at clubs, like Fabric and The End. He held many residencies, including one at Steve Lawler's 'Deep South' @ HOME clubnight. He guested at parties such as Ultimate B.A.S.E and Eurobeat 2000.
Richard started the now infamous 'Records of the Fortnight' party commonly known as R.O.T.F. with fellow record shop aficionado Mark Collings (Tag Record store). It was a fortnightly party in Soho London, that showcased all the latest vinyl releases, and of course all the white labels and promos that good record stores provide. It featured some of the world's finest DJs who joined us as guests, including the likes of Terry Francis, Nathan Coles, Mr. C, Nils Hess, Asad Rizvi, Carl Cox, Jim Masters, DJ Sneak, Ben Simms, Oliver Ho, Marco Carola, H-Foundation, Gaetano Parisio to name a few.
Working at the Eukatech record store was an experience of a lifetime. In the heart of central London, in the late 90s, a golden era for vinyl, the store was a 6 day-a-week passion that went by too fast. The store was also part of the international record company UCMG and responsible for labels such as Plastic City, Eukatech, Eukahouse, Audio, Molecular to name a few. Richard helped develop artists and projects for its many labels, as well as A&Ring his own labels Get Groovy, Turtle Trax and TT500.
Richard continues to collect music, including vinyl, and on occasion can be found DJing special events.
